Bahrain eGovernment Authority Share its Experience with Omani Delegates Bahrain eGovernment Authority recently received a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman from Information Technology Authority, to get a briefing on the Kingdom of Bahrain eGovernment Authority experience in moving the country towards the egovernance, and further understand the ICT mechanisms used to enhance the communications performance and effectiveness of the ministries and government entities. During the visit, Mr. Nasser Saleh Al Gheilani, Public Relations Manager and Ms. Tunes Al Mahrouqi Media and Communications Specialist, were given a comprehensive presentation on eGovernment Authority activities, and the role of the Marketing and Awareness Directorateprograms in increasing the awareness and encouraging citizens to utilize its eservices, aiming to exchange guaranteed and secured information between the directorates and public They were introduced to the different events conducted by the department, and issues published within the entity, such as the monthly eNewsletter Bawabatokom and eMagazine. The delegation went on a field visit to check the different service channels. They were also briefed on the national portal Bahrain.bh that provides the governmental eservices to users, and methods of usage. Up to date until today the portal is providing 111 eservices out of 200. This visit was an opportunity for both parties to exchange expertise and the best practices that will contribute in developing the move towards egovernance. Especially after the announcement of the United Nations eGovernment Readiness report 2010, where the Kingdom of Bahrain has made a new achievement in occupying a new leading position. Hence having the opportunity for the others to benefit from the eGovernment Authority experience. The Information Technology Authority highly appreciated the Bahrain eGovernment Authority dedicated efforts in developing the eservices, emphasizing the cooperation between ministries and government entities with the eGovernment Authority. |
